REVIEW: Urban Mogul Films aught to be commended for tackling such a sensitive and poignant issue for their first pic. From the start the film's message is clear: domestic violence is a problem that affects far too many people and needs our attention.

The film starts out with E.Ness's character Jay remembering the murder of his abusive father when he was just a young boy. As Jay himself becomes a man with a family of his own and is faced with the daily hardships and responsibilities of inner city life we see that he too has become an abusive person and the consequences that not only he, but his family have to deal with as a result.

The two young boys, Michael Wilson and Lil Markee Johnson (the directors nephew) who play young Jay and his son are an integral part of the movie and did a spectacular job. The emotions of both boys were very believable and truly gave the film's message credibility.

The message, as well as a great cast of popular up-and-coming hip-hop/rap and r&b artists and the bumpin' soundtrack (featuring cast members/rappers Mon E. G. and E. Ness) make up for the fact that this is not a big budget Hollywood film. If you look at it for what it truly is you will see many more positives than the few negatives!

We definitely encourage you to stick around to the end as the ending quickly becomes the highlight of the film. It's very well done, unexpected and very moving. Writer (and director) Markee Johnson clearly had the ending in mind when he put pen to paper on this one.

All in all we give it a thumbs up!
