"Consciously Dope" has arrived!
Dolo Clothing Co. Fall/Holiday/Winter collection of 2010 represents being "Consciously Dope" ......the vibe reminisces to an 80's feel with a movement of being conscience and the courage of self/individuality. An era when artist like, "Krs-One, Public Enemy, & NWA", used their lyrics as a voice to express their beliefs and had the courage to "stand for something". Graffiti was as art of self expression. A period when gangs and violence across America was so violent, artist united to create anti-violence classics like "Self-Destruction (Krs-one)" & "We are all in the same gang (E Z E)".
IN RESPECT, we created a unique/controversial piece with the addition of lyrics forming an imagery of a gun -- "Stop the Violence". As a tribute to groups like EPMD - we created "Relax your mind, and let your conscience be free" a powerful statement to ease yourself when life seems chaotic and out of control.
"Run Dolo" long sleeve is a classic that has become a staple piece in our collection. Specifically influenced by the kings of hip hop, their ability to take a chance & the confidence to believe in themselves.... as they solidified their place in history as leaders/trendsetters. Highlighted is also our favorite, a simple, clean yet bold piece, "Dolo" with a soft foil touch.
